Duplicate Content Issues Solved by Google With Canonical URL Link Tag

In February (2009) Google, Microsoft and Yahoo announced a new HTML tag. The new rel="canonical" tag is designed to help reduce duplicate pages by documenting the preferred URL for a group of very similar pages. Duplicate content is a major problem for Search Engines and searchers alike. Having duplicate content on your site can lead to penalties in search rankings. What is a Canonical Page? Definition: Canonical Page is a preferred (authoritative) page among a group of pages that have identical or almost identical content. Using Google Webmaster Tools to Find Low Hanging Fruit

You can use Google Webmaster Tools to uncover some "low hanging fruit" for getting a bit more traffic to your website. The First step of course is you have to get a webmaster account in Google and verify your site. You can put the keyword " Google webmasters tools" in the Google search bar and find out how to register for your webmaster account.
